It's so funny, but, many years ago, when I was about 5, I sued to go next door and watch two guys working on their race car. Turns out, one of them was Gordon Johncock. My mom stopped in one time to make sure I wasn't bothering them, but I just sat off to the side and watched them. Then, some 20 odd years later I ran into Gordon Johncock at a bar, and went over to talk to him and re-introduced myself to him. He is really a very nice man. :)

ESPN Classic had Johncock and Meirs analyze the 1982 race yesterday. It was neat to get their prospective. Meirs gained a few seconds a lap on the leader at the end but lost to Johncock by 1/16th of a second. Great race.
Gordon said he was out of the loop as far as public appearances - but he did show off his two Indy rings. Cool stuff...
