Talk to Hispanics and you'll be surprised. I've turned one into a rabid Republican. Once they know where the demos stand on abortion and gay issues they change parties.I spoke to one at work about an hour after the last election, he asked he could go back and change his vote.

The over 700,000 where I live not counting the illegals are Liberal to far left wing.
At one of their 50,000 mexican rally, the Marxist papers, Chea T shirts won't be voting republican anytime soon.
At most there could be a few per cent who or moderate.

The areas they populate, have Liberal Congress, and State reps.

I hope that you are right and the legal ones -- and only the legal ones -- vote with their head instead of their heart.

They're classic Reagan Democrats - fiscally liberal, socially conservative. Traditional Libs (read: Jews+Blacks) are going to find themselves without a party since Latinos tend to oppose gay rights and other favorite liberal social causes. (The LA Times actually had a detailed article on this very topic last week.)

On the other hand, both private and public sector unions will benefit greatly (it's why we saw the service/gov't unions break from the old-time mfg unions earlier this year). We'll see a run up in spending, higher taxes, and bond packages issued to cover budget shortfalls.

In other words, California for all.
