Don't forget Secretariat's Preakness run, which many think was also the fastest ever, but failure of the electronic timing left him with a slower hand timed mark. I agree, best horse ever!

Yep, the Daily Racing Form timer caught him in record time, but the track's official timer malfunctioned. The track had to go by what it's official timer showed, though. To this day the DRF chart for the 1973 Preakness shows the record time in addition to the track time.

I think if Secretariat could have been chosen King that year, we'd have had our first monarch, he was so loved. :)
