The following is from an article in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram...

http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/news/local/14628069.htm

"Many parents have said they like the $16 yearbook, which chronicles the school's inaugural year, said Tom Gardner of Colleyville, president of the Liberty PTA.

Ackerman suggested that the school could have used a different symbol for liberty, such as the Liberty Bell or the Statue of Liberty, if it was concerned about giving offense. But Gardner said those symbols may not be acceptable to everyone, either."

WTF?. The president of the PTA says that the Liberty Bell or the Statue of Liberty "...may not be acceptable to everyone". Who in their right mind is going to be offended by these symbols of our proud patriotic heritage?. Sadly, I fear that there are many these days who fit the profile, absent the fact that I did specify sanity as a criteria.

Or perhaps because its of a women that isn't wearing a head scarf. Or you can see her ankles. Or it was given to us by the French, or ....

Of course they can't use the Statue of Liberty. When legal immigrants came through to Ellis Island, they first saw the Statue of Liberty (a gift from France) and cheered. But now days, illgals sneak across the littered desert. See, they simply can't relate.
