Unfortunately, the EU was not really thought out.
The "administrators" have their borders pretty well secure and their cultural history is quite homogenous. So they are safe in dictating to the vulnerable.
Countries like Spain and Italy, on the boder with the "barbarians", thought that they were buying into an economic union and a common market, not into letting a non-entity like Belgium control their sovereignty in internal affairs, such as establishing the rules for allowing residency and citizenship.
That gives me a fresh thought. Whenever an illegal's country of origin cannot be established, they should all be shipped to Belgium... or Holland.
i agree except for one point, the EU was thought out. the franco-german plan had been in effect for years(paris was never destroyed during WWII). it is unfortunate that so many others went along with it. Eastern europe might be able to compensate.(hopefully)
