Don't forget the 1 billion chinese! LOL
It has to do with additional quirks in current immigration law that will serve to bring in the RELATIVES (Mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, sons, daughters, aunts and uncles) of each primary immigrant.
I am waiting on someone to ask Congress to eliminate the FAMILY REUNIFICATION provisions so that this factor is eliminated.
Still, allowing the 12 million to stay would amount to allowing in the single, largest block of immigrants from a single nation ever allowed into the US.
I don't see why we should do that when the hundreds of nations in this world hav so many more highly trained and educated people that would be of great benefit to this country.
You do realize, of course, that letting in this many Mexican nationals will result in a need to clamp down on all other immigration quotas for many years into the future.
It gets down to rank, raw racism to give preference to a single nationality. Mexicans deserve no greater consideration for immigration than folks from South Africa, Mozambiue, New Zealand, Australia, Maylaysia, Philippines, Thailand, India or Sri Lanka, nor do they deserve less consideration than others.
There should be one line available for immigration.
