In that case i hope social security goes broke and the sooner the better!

"If this amendment were enacted, the nest egg that these immigrants have worked hard for would be taken from them and their families," said McCain. A nest egg obtained through criminal activity - in most cases you are not allowed to reap the reward of crime. I guess the Senator will next say we need to protect embezzlers from having to pay restitution, since they worked hard to to get that money and had planned on having it.

Let me get this strait. Someone sneaks across the border gets fake identification one month later becomes disable and get social security for the rest of his life. and a majority of the Senate can't see what is wrong with that.

THere is NO way I will vote for McCain. He's an idiot. We have NO SSecurity reform...Americans will not even get their investment back...yet he wants to burden it even more by providing illegal aliens with benefits!
To: Rick_Michael
So now the illegals will be coming here to cash the Social Security checks that Americans don't want to cash? I'll bet they'll start whining and crying about having to show a photo I.D. to cash them. Everybody knows that's "discrimination" and "disenfranchisement." Where's the aCLU?

Lindsay Graham was once a good conservativw Senator, but no more. The RINOs and now Bush, are ruining the party and the country.

What is truly sad is that in 2008, if this traitorous nutball gets nominated for Pres. Repubs and self described conservatives will crawl nekkid over broken glass to vote for him.

I just had a brilliant idea ... we get the Social Security Number of one of the RINO's (McCain would be a good choice) and put up for auction on ebay!

So let me get this straight. President Bush promoted Social Security reform last year, owing to the coming insolvency of the system, which will result in both reduced benefits and increased taxes for most Americans, and the Democrats (and many Republicans) ran away like scalded dogs, all the while vilifying Bush for even raising the issue.
And now, we have these same Democrats (and many Republicans) falling over themselves to give Social Security benefits to 20 million current illegal immigrants, and up to 200 million more over the next 20 years, which will certainly bring the coming Social Security insolvency into this time frame.
We truly live in a land run by corrupt, selfish, scum. We need to start hanging these bastards. Voting them out of office is too good for them.

Juan McLame as usual And Specter, of course. But for the most part the vote was straight down party lines. Illegals and their supporters in the (legal) electorate know who butters their bread -- the Democrat Party.
RINO attempts to win the "hearts and minds" - voting allegiance - of the Hispanic community by exercising their "compassionate conservatism" (offering amnesty) are bound to fail miserably, so they'd be wise to jump that ship and start listening to the will of the majority of the American people. ....and the vast majority members of their own party.

Who were the other 10 Pubbies who voted with McCain to give the illegals SS benefits? Can someone inform us here?

Consequences!People just can't see it yet. This will hurt so many people in the long run. ANYONE who doesn't invest and build up another source of retirement income will work until (s)he drops dead because of this. The Mexicans who thought they were going to get a windfall will later see it is only a small drip in their financial pond (or on their drought-scorched dirt clod).
