In their phone chat last Sunday, President Bush told Mexican President Vicente Fox that he had no intention of militarizing the U.S.-Mexico border to keep illegal Mexican immigrants from crossing over into the United States. The next day, he promptly announced to his fellow Americans and to the world that he would be doing just that - militarizing the border region by sending some 6000 National Guard troops to patrol the U.S. side.
"Hypocrite!" declared an angry headline in the Mexican tabloid La Prensa, referring to Bush's bald-faced lie.
Other news analysts have been somewhat more expansive in their commentaries on immigration and border control, if no less plain-spoken. Example: op-ed writer Pablo Latapí, who in the pages of La Crónica de Hoy noted: "Once more, Bush's government is taking a shot at Mexico and Mexicans. And once more, President Fox pretends to ignore the threat...."
Bush's decision to dispatch National Guard troops reflects "the myopia and mental misery of the President of the United States," Latapí opined. First of all, he argued, the decision will put "in real danger the lives of thousands of Mexicans who inevitably will attempt to cross the border because the National Guard troops are the only military [personnel in the U.S.] who, by law, are authorized to shoot at the civilian population...."

SO WHAT MEXICO?
Wanna see a REAL militarization of the border.... Keep commin across ILLEGALLY!
Think we gave a damn about what you think, as you bleed our Nation dry??? Go chew some Coca, and smoke some more Rope, cause here's notice: STAY OUT!
Why isn't the US allowed sovereign rights to enforce its own border as Mexico does? Why no headlines demanding that Mexico clean up corruption and provide decent jobs for her people? Why no headlines about the fact that half the country is gone and the rest are packing for the trip north?
If the people we are trying to keep out are upset about the plan we are using to keep them out, it should be a pretty good plan.
I agree with the paper's assessment that Bush is a hypocrite ... only for different reasons.
What is your problem, your like a spoiled rotten brat you don't like this country than you leave.
For some reason I can't cut and paste from the first newspaper, but Fox was saying that in the immigrationd ebate, it is important that the U.S. recognize that "all Mexicans are decent people."
Really, Mr. Fox? ALL Mexicans?
So, in your own country, you have no criminals? No robbers, thieves, murderers, rapists, child abusers, drug addicts or vandals? That is amazing. If ALL Mexicans are decent, then there can't be any criminals, so there must be no crime, which makes Mexico sound like a perfect Utopian society.
I find it amazing, then, that millions of your fellow countrymen try every year to leave your perfect country and come here to our decadent nation.
Too bad we can't get the US media as mad about Mexico's invasion of the US.
"So, in your own country, you have no criminals? No robbers, thieves, murderers, rapists, child abusers, drug addicts or vandals?"
He has very few left. He exports them for care and feeding to the US prison system at US taxpayers expense.
I think we ought to open 1,000 rifle ranges facing south...put the targets one foot on our side of the border...I am sure we could get a lot of people to practice their shooting.....
Hey Mexico--FOAD!
Amazing. It was a year ago today that I sent this letter to Vicente Fox, to a few Mexican newspapers and to La Opinion in L.A.:
No merecen quedarse aquí.
Sinceramente,
Los CIUDADANOS de los Estados Unidos de America
MEXICO / Kiss our shirt tails!!!!!!!!!
How dare a foreign government that is our neighbor insult the President of the United States of America!
And a foreign government that Our President has done nothing but praised and showed respect for.
Because that would be meddling in the internal affairs of a sovereign state, that, and it's illegal to do so in that particular state.
Talk about hypocrites!
We are allowed.
Mexico has no control over this country no matter what Fox thinks.
And, they better watch out or we will get tough. You don't mess with America.
