Thanks, but this whole deal is so upside down, it's making my head spin! If an American conservative forum like Free Republic doesn't support capitalism in one of the biggest boom times this or any other nation has ever known, who will (of course, to be fair, most probably still do)?
I can understand socialists like this annoying group http://www.globalexchange.org/campaigns/fairtrade/coffee/ being favoring government control of markets.
But I can't understand it here.
Jerome Corsi did a good job helping the Swift vets, obviously. But I haven't noticed John O'Neill, who I thought came off very impressively in his mission to shed light on Senator Kerry helping Corsi out in this latest crusade. I wonder why not?
Are you suggesting that NAFTA was equivalent to market based free trade principles and that anyone who is critical of it is against capitalism? From what I have seen of NAFTA, it has lots of government regulation and intervention (3 governments, to be exact) in everything from controlling trade, labor, the environment and monetary policies. IMO, these treaties that supercede United States law will be the demise of our nation.
It is much easier to shriek ignorance than explain reality. As soon as you engage any one of these folks in a discussion based on facts, they run away. Watch what happens if anyone takes the opportunity to discuss the CFR publication mentioned earlier in this thread. None of them will be able to discuss the document without referring to another "article" that explains what the document is "really" saying. The reason the MSM has any influence remaining is because too many people still would rather be told what to think than process the facts themselves. It's easy, and lazy. And it makes any rational person's head spin.
