I am dead set against amnesty. I don't want a guest worker program for illegals without their returning home to apply for it, but I don't agree that anybody should have to pay into SS without being eligible for benefits.

Even if they paid into it under an illegal status?

If I shoplifted a winning lottery ticket from a 7-11 and I got caught, would I be eligible to receive the check?

I see.

I guess this means you support Bush's Social Security Totalization Agreement with Mexico.

Under the terms of the agreement, signed by Bush's appointed SSA Commissioner, Jo Ann Barnhart on June 29, 2004, Mexican illegal aliens will be eligible to apply for, and receive benefits after having worked for only 6 quarters (18 months) while US citizens only become eligible to apply after having worked 40 quarters (10 years).

Additionally, the Mexican illegal alien can apply for, and receive US SSA benefits for his Mexican (national) wife and children, even if they've never stepped foot in the US.

On the other hand, the US government routinely deprives American citizens of their illegal gains through asset forfeiture laws.

Can you please explain why Mexican illegal aliens should not be subject to these laws while American citizens are?

To start with they didn't "pay" into SS, they paid into someone's account other thean theirs because they used stolen SS numbers. They commited felonies and you think they should get SS benefits! Try thinking this through, you might change your mind!

These criminals are entillted to nothing!

If they're illegal, they're in all likelihood being paid under the table, so neither they nor their employers are paying into the SS system in the first place.
