Another thing that's weird about the article is that Seattle isn't nearly as ethnically diverse as much larger cities. Why push something like this when the "oppressed" aren't really around, numbers-wise?

There are a lot of minorities in the Seattle Public Schools - I'd be surprised if the total minority enrollment is less than 20%, and it might be much higher.
