Really, though, although TB is of concern, and rates are higher than they were prior to the increase of foreign-born people living in the U.S., it is more under control at this time than when things were really ramping up in the late 80's and early 90's. I am not totally without hope that we will win this war.
However, I remain concerned about the yet-to-be imported or detected diseases that we will have to face.
I am also concerned but with world travel what it is now, I imagine we are now open to all sorts of nasty things. And many people contract illnesses while in the hospital!
