Nifong showed conclusively, to my mind, that he's nothing more than a bottom-feeding pond scum politician when he announced that he doesn't want to try the case until next year, proof that all his bluster before the cameras was all about votes, not justice. He cares nothing about the lives he's destroying. He got re-elected, and that's all that mattered.

The case is falling apart before his eyes. By putting the trial off to next year, Nifong hopes the American public's attention will be elsewhere by the time he's forced to present the wreckage in court.
