Just because you say so and believe so doesn't make it true.

I couldn't agree more. That's why, instead of just taking my word for it, you should use your own deductive powers and come to the inevitable conclusion that such an invasion was for all intents and purposes impossible. Because Germany did not have anything remotely approaching the capability it would have taken to invade and control the United States, such an idea was never for a moment given serious planning consideration by the Germans.

If you have a shred of evidence to the contrary, I would be interested in seeing it.

I do not say that the German Army and Navy had invasion plans drawn up. I'm sure they would have been resistant to the idea, like Rommel became resistant to Hitler at a certain point.

However, I believe that Hitler had the ambition in his mind, and that Nazi groups in the U.S. and South America were part of the early stages of that ambition. The SS would have been more aware of these things than the generals and admirals of Germany, as they were subversive plans.

And would they have needed really to have large invading armies if Hitler had gotten The Bomb first?

Footnote to the discussion of Russia applies to this discussion as well. I believe that the reason Hitler turned and attacked Russia was that he was frustrated by not having the sea power to carry an invading army of sufficent size to England. Far from being able to invade us, I think he couldn't really invade England either.

He made the mistake of attacking Russia. He should have driven for the Middle East first and gotten control of the oil, and then attacked the Ukrainian bread basket. But that's just my off the cuff impression.

I've never really studied this issue, but it interests me.
