WE MUST CONSIDER THIS POSSIBILITY strong message: We are not going to take any affirmative action to insure that the Mexican invasion across our southern border is brought to a halt. We must consider the possibility that these politicians want this invasion to continue because it serves their political needs. For the Democrats, this one is easy. Enabling the invasion is step one. Amnesty for those who have crossed our borders is step two. Step three will be figuring out a way to get those who were once illegal aliens, but by virtue of the amnesty program are illegal no more, to the polls to vote; presumably for Democrats. As for the Republicans? Well, there's always those heavy-duty contributors who benefit from the cheap labor offered by the invasion force. It's also possible that Republicans might actually believe that this legitimized invasion force will be prone to vote Republican!
how many decades has this been going on for? just a question
The republicans are committing political suicide.
The question is what is the motivation of the GOP? Are they all Rocefeller Republicans.
secede?
Neal is mistaken if he thinks the Democrats will wait until all these illegals are given amnesties before allowing them to vote. Illegals are already voting by the millions in states like California, and I'm sure it's spreading all over.
Not only do Republicans need to do something about immigration, they need to do something about election corruption. It's getting worse and worse, and the stupid party has been absolutely hapless about it.
Much of this happened under clinton, who greatly increased the numbers of illegal votes. But Bush has done nothing to reverse it, even though it nearly cost him the election.
Yep, wrong word choice.
I have called Shelby of Alabama he has not returned my call, although he has a nice sounding honey working at his office who listened to every word I said. Even emailed him, but he is a former democrat, he is living in another world now like the rest of those yahoos.
The GOP is split on this issue. House conservative Republicans have crafted and passed the best bill to date. House conservative Senators have now rejected the President position via their votes on bills crafted by Leftist Republican Senators and Leftist Democrats. We know why Dimwits and Rino's want amnesty or as McCain now calls it 'a banana'. The question is why has Bush destroyed what little support remained for him in the country for a handful of illegal Mexicans ?
At present, 84 percent of the federal budget is for entitlements, defense, homeland security, or interest on the debt. Any effort to achieve a reduction in spending by focusing on the remaining 16 percent is unlikely to be very effective. For example, a 1 percent cut in nominal non-security discretionary spending for one year reduces total spending by only 0.17 percent. Over five years, it reduces total spending by 0.89 percent......http://www.brookings.edu/views/testimony/sawhill/20060215.htm ......Look at the cash!!!!Another thread on here yesterday noted that one of the Senate plans allowed 193 million immigrants over 20 years. IMHO, that number is no accident. That number is what Capitol Hill has calculated will be required to keep our social programs AND the rest of governmnet running. This explains the "bipartisan" character of border neglect.
The republicans are committing political suicide.
Yep, it is a done deal.
Hillary is in.
And consider that Teddy and the team will bust their butts to get the vote for them. Million or two new Democrats looking for jobs sounds like fun.
So they need third world slave labor to continue making the ever increasing interest payments on their horrific debt. In other words, they have failed us miserably.
Problem with your theory is they are net takers from the government (taxpayers). They don't pay enough in taxes to cover the benefits they get. Once they are legal the benfits go up. So where is all that cash the government is supposed to be collecting from them?
The question is what is the motivation of the GOP?
