You're lucky to never have been on the receiving end of it. I dated a man who had a verbally abusive ex-wife. I listened to one of her voicemails to him once and a headache set in almost immediately. She was a vicous person.
OTOH, I have really never been the victim of verbal abuse, unless you go back to my childhood, but that's a whole 'nother story.
