The praise for the (Sunni) Iraqi jihadis, and the citing of Sunni and Shia "jurisprudents" once again belies one of the "conventional wisdom" assumptions of the American Left: that Iran would not support Al Qaeda or Sunni fanatics because of the "irreconciable differences" between Shia and Sunni Islam.
