10: My dad, the Midwestern bellwether, thinks Al Gore can win.

(Nina forgets what that red state/blue state map looked like..Gore can't win anything except the coasts.)

9. Gore doesn't pander to the religious vote, and he has forcefully and eloquently spoken out about separation of church and state.

(Nina badmouths religion on a regular basis, part of her hate filled schtick, and by the way, Al Gore has never been eloquent!)

8. He is courageous. Gore has consistently called the current administration out on its radical agenda, extremism and criminality.

(Courageous????) He's just a fat Jimmy Carter, badmouthing the Commander in Chief during wartime. Sour grapes whining does not take courage.)

7. By 2008, energy conservation will be an American obsession, not just with the so-called liberal "elite." Gore, the public conservationist, drew ridicule talking about it in the days of petrol plenty, sounds pretty smart now.

(By 2008, ANWAR and Utah oil fields will be chains around Al Gore's neck.)

6. By 2008, global warming will be a mainstream concern. Gore was talking about global warming back when it was still science fiction. He's starring in a movie about it, coming to multiplexes along with "Over the Hedge."

("Over the Hedge", "Ice Age The Meltdown"...Is Al Gore's movie animated too? People gonna be so confused.)

5. The Iraq War will be universally understood to be a disaster by 2008. Gore opposed the Iraq War first among his peers, and forcefully, in 2004.

(Al Gore and war, doesn't compute. Even anti war stalwarts will fear Al Gore as CINC.)

4. Gore is squeaky clean, untouched by corruption. No lost billing records in his linen closet, no Enron or Abramoff staining his campaign finance reports.

(Hello Buddist Temple, dead relatives as campaign props, Does Nina think we forget things like "1989 Gore, while a senator from Tennessee, had gone to Asia with the now notorious John Huang. The trip was funded by Fo Kwang Shan, the Buddhist organization that ran the temple where the DNC picked up those interesting checks from nuns and such.

Then there was the photo with Al Gore and a major drug dealer – Jorge Cabrera, who gave $20,000 to the DNC – at a Miami fund raiser, a fact the Clinton administration initially attempted to conceal with the argument that a publicity shot with the veep was covered by the privacy act.

Cabrera had been indicted in 1983 by a federal grand jury – on racketing and drug charges – and again in 1988, when he was accused of managing a continuing narcotics operation. He pleaded guilty to lesser charges and served 54 months in prison.")

3. He can fight. He seems to have recovered his vitality, after the apparently spirit-draining years in Washington, the U.S. Senate and the vice presidency.

(Fat Albert a fighter??? Well, I guess he could sit on his opponents, or drown them with his sweat.)

2. We CAN forgive him for selecting Joe Lieberman as his running mate, as long as he doesn't ever do it again.

(I'm sure Joe Lieberman would be a little pickier this time around too.)

1. He actually was elected President. If international election monitors had been running the show in 2000, imagine how different the world would look today.

(Only someone like Burleigh wants Third World dictatorships to run American elections, but she then, she would want our enemies in charge of our country.)

Bonus point: He's related to Gore Vidal. He could make his cousin Secretary of State. Okay. A girl can dream.

(Laughable someone would admit admiring this old Queen, who left the USA to live in Italy decades ago. And Nina, you left girlhood decades ago. Grow up and grow a brain.)

The thing about Al Gore and Gore Vidal being related is interesting. I'm am amateur genealogist and I've read that no one can find a way that they are related, though I've heard each one refer to the other as "cousin". President Bush and John Kerry are cousins four or five times and yet they don't go around calling each other cousin.
