The right to vote for starters. The right to citizenship. The right to a free public education. None of these things are exactly "rights". Privileges would be a better word. For example, if the legislature decides not to fund public education, then that is within both its legal and moral power. Citizen or not, legal immigrant or not, you have no right to be educated at the expense of the public. The notion that you do is ... what's the word ... socialist?
