Excuse my ignorance, but why is there so much activity attached to a vanity post by a guy who calls himself "Pukin Dog?"

If I remember correctly, this is the same guy who told us all that we were all politically ignorant because we thought that we could get a better candidate for SCOTUS than Harriet Myers. He had inside sources, and special connections that told him that there was no way that anyone other than Harriet Myers could be confirmed.

That didn't prove to be the case.

Now he is offering his expertise on the matter of illegal immigration and the politics involved with that.

With over 3,000 replies, it appears that many people give this guy, "Pukin," alot of defference.

I'll follow this thread and try to figure out why.

He wrote a vanity designed to flush out trolls (broadly defined as those insufficiently loyal to the GOP on various policies) so the moderators could ban them. The moderators put this vanity in Breaking News, despite management's policy against vanities.

Given that he's been bragging about how many trolls he's bagged, it seems a fair assessment.

I usually avoid this sort of self-promoting thread, but had to come see what was going on yesterday, because a participant in my state forum asked to be suspended on it, and was. The thread was linked from that forum, and I had no idea, initially, that it was a "breaking vanity."

It's been quite instructive.
