Though immigration is a real, ongoing problem which has been with us for decades, I find this sudden, strident, venomous interest in it from people who never made a peep during the eight years of the Clinton administration suspicious...especially since they claim to stand so strongly on principle. It looks agenda driven to an old, ulcer-ridden analyst like me.
I recall huge numbers of threads on illegals and the dangers of it back during the Clinton years here at FR. Given that you joined in Novemember 2000, maybe you weren't here or participating fully. Then, unlike today, we had no one advocating open-borders. Pretty unanimous against open-borders, not so unanimous on NAFTA issues.
