No conservative I know is asking for perfection. We are not asking that everything turn out our way or that our President fight the Democrats on every small issue.

We do expect, however, for our "conservative" President to not actively campaign against conservative principles like he has been doing recently when it comes to the domestic realm.

We ARE asking to not be treated like fools and bigots. One cannot forget the Miers debacle and the cries of sexism that came out of Mrs. Bush and certain people in the administration. One cannot help but cringe at the thinly veiled accusations coming out of the Republican Congress that one is a racist if he opposes the guest worker program.

Like it or not, a lot of Bush's base is very upset right now. Do not treat us like we are spoiled children crying because we did not get a candy bar. Such accusations are very insulting.

All I can say is that if this administration and this congress continue to act arrogant and not only ignore, but fight against, their base, there will be a Speaker Pelosi soon. Not because any conservative is going to vote Democrat, but because too many of the average conservative Joes will just not care enough to go to the polls and vote for RINOs.

I will, under my new resolve, not let your post stand. First of all, the Miers debacle is OVER. Alito is the Justice, and you are still nursing a grudge over that?

This illustrates the point made above that if President Bush did every darn thing you wanted tomorrow, you would STILL be unhappy because he didn't agree with you from Day 1. Knock it off. Miers isn't going to be on the Supreme Court, and nursing that grudge is the action of a petty Bush-hater.

Second, Laura Bush did NOT call you sexist. She was asked if there "was an element of sexism in the opposition" and she said "probably." Well guess what? There WAS an element of sexism, and anyone who read all the stuff on this forum and from some of the pundits should realize it. Go back and read David Frum's malicious posts on National Review if you are unaware of this element of the controversy. It wasn't the major portion, but some of it was still there.

I will NOT be silent any more when people whine about this and refuse to note all of the good things President Bush has done. Where were you when the entire media and most of the Congress was blaming him for the Katrina disaster, when anyone who paid attention knew it was Blanco and Nagin who caused the problem? Have you defended him when the entire force of the media has been brought to bear on him, charging him with lying to get us into war? Probably not.

So excuse me if Laura Bush hurt your feelings with her mild comment. Perhaps you would like to return to the days when we had Hillary as first lady. She was SO much kinder, wasn't she?

Feh!

But by not going to the polls you will be voting for RINO's. That is the thing. The RINO's (other than Chaffee) aren't running for office. Anger can indeed be a blinding thing.

Regardless of who "Joe" is not voting for, it is a slap in the face of every veteran from the Revolutionary Army to present who has fought and sometimes died for Americans' right to vote. I find even just the threat of not voting disgusting. Some American "Joe" is.

Not going to the polls is the same as voting democrat.

Well - let me tell you - they better care to elect anything other than a democrat.

If not, they are very poor conservatives to begin with.

I'm not familiar with your posts, but from what you said if you run down the President at this delicate and desperate time in our country's history, then I have to say, "No, you're more like spoiled children who toss down their baseball bats because they don't like the umps' calls and then go home and LET THE OTHER SIDE WIN." If I mis-read your post, I apologize. If not, grow up.
