It's disturbing and frightening. If I thought there was an alternative, I'd be all for it. But there isn't, so I'll keep voting for Republicans so we can keep getting conservative judges who will MAYBE make enoough court decisions in my lifetime that I will see the country swing away from socialism.

I don't think that there is a practical national alternative to the Republican party for conservatives. Not now, and not in the foreseeable future. Since I consider myself a conservative first, I have, do, and will continue to vote Republican.

How do we influence change in the party when we think it's necessary? I can see why those who believe that "Vote 'em out!" is the most direct way to make their concerns known. It's a statement phrased in language every career politician understands. It's also cutting off one's nose to spite one's face if a rat gains office and proceeds to run wild for even a term or two.

What is the alternative? I wish I knew.

I've never and will never pull anything but the Republican lever. They aren't perfect, but they're the best chance we have in this country to turn away from socialism.
