Seems lately we've been served a lot of salad with an occasional side order of steak, but we need to remind each other - and be reminded - we've a much better chance of our own hearing our pleas and satisfying our bidding than attracting an arch rival's attention.

At least a third of the folks here are as gullible as the day is long and have lost ALL perspective over Illegals. This is the third or fourth wave of insanity which has swept over the sit in the last year or so. Each one has exposed the danger posed by their gullibility. This one could be fatal and produce a tremendous victory for the Left should FR be marginalized as the Land of Loons.

Nice rant and I agree with most of what you said. The one issue that I will give the Republicans zero wiggle room on however is the amnesty disaster. If this legislation goes down the way it looks like it's going to, our job just gets 100% harder if not impossible. If tens or hundreds of millions of illiterate Hispanics are granted citizenship and subsequently the vote, just who do you think they will vote for? It certainly wont be the Republicans. If we allow this to happen, it wont matter how loyal we are to the conservatives in Congress. After a few years of this, there wont be any there to be loyal to.

Thanks for the rant Pukin, it is well deserved by some here. To show disrespect for the sitting President, his office or the First Lady is not a thing I expected to see at Free Republic when I signed up a short time ago. Hopefully this rant will awaken some FReepers.

It has gotten to the point that I come on Free Republic less and less. I do not need to hear constant bashing of the President on every single thread. Lately I bypass the straight line immigration threads because I know they get down right ugly but when I find that same immigration ugliness on Da Vinci Code threads I know its time to leave the site.
