The way that Rove is destroying the Democrats, is to peel away the reasonable from the wacky. Right now, the wacky have taken over that party, leaving reasonable Dems with nowhere to go but here. Agreed, but that is part of the reason I think we all need to try and avoid the inflammatory rhetoric on these issues. Otherwise good posters are being dragged into flame wars that don't help them, this cause or FR.

Land mines may be a stupid idea (I think they are). That doesn't mean that the poster suggesting them is stupid. MTCW is that we need to keep that distinction in mind, because we are eating some of our own here, which is sad and unnecessary.

And those are a very distinct minority. Did you like it when the Clintonistas associated the OKC bombing with the entire right wing in this country? There will always be zealots. But there are good historical reasons to oppose Bush's guest worker program that are held by practical people who do not want to throw the illegals into boxcars.

To follow up with an example, just look at how the wacky-left is treating Joe Lieberman!

Republicans in his state will be supporting him just to keep the more wacky Dem from winning the primary. A few years back, Lieberman was their VP choice, now he's not good enough for them. I would trade ten Chaffee's for one Joe Lieberman.
