We are well within our sovereign rights to deploy landmines anywhere on U.S. territory. Are you suggesting that we have no right to deploy them against North Koreans who desire to 'immigrate' to South Korea?
Nonsense. We have used landmines for a century and can use them in any area we are protecting legitimately.

Don't be stupid or dishonest.
Are you suggesting landmines on our SOUTHERN BORDER?

BJClinton had it right with the "ZOT belt" comment... but to say that his outburst makes him a DUmmy is just plain... stupid.

Its all in the way you look at it. I wasn't taunting anyone, just reminding everyone that Bush has done nothing but follow the promises he made during his campaign. It was not meant to disrespect anyone, and everyone has a right to disagree with the man.
Again, my argument is about STYLE, not substance of opposition to the President.

Great post.
We could be very effective if we did serve as the place to find out what the democratic party is really doing.
Look at Rush. His effectiveness is that he explains the liberal mindset and he interprets the current events as to the real purpose in them.
And, he has done more for the conservative movement than any I know of.
We have had glimpses of that power over the years with the Dan Rather episode and the other "revealings". We need to expend our energies on more of this.
Only trouble, not all of us have that ability - we are the learners.

Thanks for that.
From what I see from much time spent here on a daily basis, is that the only common denominator between those who break forum rules between posters that are in an argument either defending GWB on some issue and those that dissent, is that the dissenters are most often slapped down or even suspended/banned. Quite often those 'forum rules' seem not to apply to the former, they receive much more latitude than the latter.
I supported and voted twice for GWB, and am a conservative that believes in principle before party. I see nothing wrong with voicing disagreement towards any policy that GWB might stand for if it is done in a civil and constructive manner. To thwart or punish those who do offer constructive criticism is foolhardy as eventually the dialog here will become a shallow gene pool of inbreeding.
Respectful discourse to advance conservatism should be welcomed not bullied into submission.
Thanks for FR Jim, Conservatism and the health of the Republic can always benefit from it's true Patriots, if they remain strong to given principles.

One question as I read Lincoln's statement about a 'house divided' I was wondering all day yesterday as I watched the Senate on CSpan, why are people not angry with the runaway Senators who are voting with the Dems? Are they not dividing the 'house'? ~Literally Are we suppose to continue to vote for them also when you have a buddy system of say Obama/McCain? Remind me again WHO is tearing up the party?

Quite the wordsmith. Would that I had your talent. You said exactly what I would have said if I could have said... ;^)
Bottom line? It's not the border situation alone, but any number of missteps by "our" guys. Stopping the illegal invasion is just the final straw for most conservatives. It just coincidentally happens to be a minimum.
Thanks for putting into words what I suspect so many others believe.

groom them to put on their wife-beaters and come on FR to abuse women. That'd be the life! Already happens. Check out 'General Chat' once in awhile.

It's because conservatives would rather burn the country down than accept a compromise on any of 'their' issues.
I well remember a conservative running against Rudy Guiliani in NY. Into town came Bill Bennett and Jack Kemp. Campaigning for the conservative.
The conservative got between 1 and 2% of the vote. Rudy Guiliani barely won the election. Imagine having David Dinkins as Mayor againg thanks to the conservatives.
Evidently they felt their way or no way. To hell with the people living and working in NYC. A city long deemed ungovernable.
Think about the alternative when you blovaite about how wonderful conservatives are for the country.
