Immigration was a topic of concern even to our founding fathers.
Read what Alexander Hamilton had to say about unlimited immigration:
"The opinion advanced in [Jeffersons] Notes on Virginia is undoubtedly correct, that foreigners will generally be apt to bring with them attachments to the persons they have left behind; to the country of their nativity, and to its particular customs and manners.
They will also entertain opinions on government congenial with those under which they have lived; or if they should be led hither from a preference to ours, how extremely unlikely is it that they will bring with them that temperate love of liberty, so essential to real republicanism?
"
"In the recommendation to admit indiscriminately foreign emigrants of every description to the privileges of American citizens, on their first entrance into our country, there is an attempt to break down every pale which has been erected for the preservation of a national spirit and a national character; and to let in the most powerful means of perverting and corrupting both the one and the other."
[From Hamilton, The Examination, nos. 7-9 (1802), Papers of Alexander Hamilton, ed. Harold C. Syrett (New York: Columbia University Press, 1961-), 25:491-501.]

I don't think it is racist to want to avoid the terrible mistakes Mexico has made in its patrician system. Its cultural failure shows up on our doorstep.

Really? Please explain why it is racist to speak of a cultural aspect of those who wave the flag of Mexico and take such pride in it.
We are being invaded by Mexicans, people loyal to another country, people who send OUR wealth back to THEIR country.
You're the racist here, not me.

Is this the "event" sponsored by the communist racists at ANSWER? I'm sure the brave organizers of this event will be at home smoking dope and cheering on their useful idiots.

It is not racist to want sovereign borders. It is not racist to want to deport those here illegally. It is not racist to abhor foreigners of any color or creed marching in MY streets with THEIR flag demanding their nonexistent "rights." I would be just as angry if they were blond-haired and blue-eyed. It is their behavior, not their color, that enrages me. Where do they get off?
To: stopem
Frist already caved he wants to legalize the 12 million lawbreakers. He should be history.
To: LadyNavyVet
Permission to come aboard granted!!
I cannot believe this topic even requires discussion in America. We have 3 million a year coming across the southern border illegally. They are not the educated, the highly skilled, the immigrants that would do THIS country the most good. They are ignorant, uneducated, desperate to work Mexicans who don't want to be US citizens, don't want to learn to speak English, and don't think the US is a better country than Mexico.
They increase our social programs costs, and force more of our lower income citizens onto social programs.
We have to protect our southwest border, because the invasion is killing those border states.

He is a self-proclaimed "damned good lawyer". He is also a self-proclaimed "conservative libertarian". Therefore, he is right and the rest of us are racists.

"it's disingenuous to draw a line between legal and illegal immigrants"I think that I'm going to start stealing cars, or maybe robbing banks, since it's "disingenuous to draw a line between making a legal or illegal" withdrawl from a bank. Hey, in both cases, I'm just getting money from the bank.

To King of Florida....
Can you blame any American for turning to be a racist after the display of Mexicans demanding, demanding, demanding, demanding from law-abiding TAX-PAYING American citizens.

YOU are the racist.
I also notice you run away and hide rather than apologise or explain why you so easily denigrate a fellow freeper.
That's typical of liberals, not libertarians, are you sure you've identified yourself correctly?

Imagine this: A group of Americans living in Mexico driving around the main government building in Mexico "demanding" this or that. The last time that happened was in 1848.
To: Mayflower Sister
When you call the Ehite House you might want to ask them why they have a special White House website that is in Spanish. That is a slap in the face, not only to English speaking citizens, but to legal immigrants from countries who speak other than Spanish.
If our president really thinks the illegals should learn English why is he putting up a Spanish website? Disgusting.
