She soon toned that rhetoric down and said she's wanting to spend money on education and health care.
Be a shame if she wins because she betrayed the troops still fighting with her comments.
From what I understand, the district she's running in leans GOP, plus the Dims are pretty well divided, or at least they were right after the primary. The other Dim candidate (named Cegalis or some such) was a real far-left anti-war moonbat, and the crazies and the loons went for her big time (I think none other than Will Pitt had something to do with her campaign). They were quite miffed that Rahm Emmanuel and the rest of the party bigs stiffed their candidate and threw in with Duckworth, to the point where Cegalis refused to endorse Duckworth after the primary and the loons were yowling about how they weren't going to turn out to vote for Duckworth in November. Maybe they patched things up since, but I haven't heard. I haven't seen any polling data either, and that's often a sign that the Dim's not doing well.
