Bill. It could be that the best thing for us , is allowing these fools to stall the bill until after labor day. At least the guard will be in place. It will be fun to see how the folks react to our security being used as a bargaining chip for amnesty.

Anyone got a copy of the voting list?

I hope so. It will be needed if we can get enough citizens to Washington with the nooses.

We have some senators who have earned hemp nexkties.

I'm surprised these geniuses didn't seek construction of better storm sewers in N'Awlins as a way to fix the problem.

"Bush and other backers of a guest worker program say it is needed to fill jobs that Americans do not want."

Crack down on unemployment fraud and food stamp fraud and I bet the interest will skyrocket in grabbing hold of these jobs "that Americans do not want."

A supporter of the proposal, Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., said Congress has "no business passing a comprehensive immigration bill without making sure, first, that the border will be secure."

"Upholding the rule of law on our border is as important as defending our freedom in Iraq," he said. "A nation that loses control of its own borders is a nation that is not likely to exist for long.”

Spot on. Secure the borders first and verify the that the entry/exit system is up and operational at all border/port and point of entry locations.

"Most of the members of the Senate who are voting to give away the country are nothing more than the descendants of immigrants with little of the sterner stuff that came with Europe and Africa's outcasts and throwaway people."

Interesting... the words sterner stuff resonate well!

On my fathers side I am a descendant of Russian Jews who had to flee for there lives. Mothers side, Polish Jews (Warsaw ghetto)just as bad.

Maybe that's where the 'sterner stuff" comes from, I don't know, but America is still the greatest Country in the world, and I'm not going to let them destroy it with out a fight!

Don't give Warner the benefit of the doubt. He is very consistent on bringing in more immigrants.

You caught the subtle distinction between "immigrants" and "refugees", and no doubt between "immigrants" and those brought here as prisoners ~

Folks who came to America just because of the good times, such as the crowd the Senate seems to care about, really don't have the interests of the country at heart and probably won't pass on any positive beliefs to their descendants.

My neighborhood is ful of refugees. Haven't found a one who is really happy about fleeing for his or her life. On the other hand, they are all, to a person, grateful for a place of refuge. They think of America as a holy place.

Given the experience we've had around here with MS13 as far as I'm concerned Warner's interest is in bringing in more guys who will murder people with baseball bats.

He's definitely an evil old man.

Ol' John sent me a 2-page letter explaining his RINO position. Filled to the bursting point with the false line "jobs Americans won't do." If Americans won't do the jobs, why are 60-99% of the employees in industries that hire illegals staffed with Americans?

One of the talk-show hosts mentioned a few weeks ago that 4.8% of the workforce is made up of illegals. And unemployment is at 4.7%. Hello?

Right! They didn't come as a business venture -- just to make a buck.

And further: "They think of America as a holy place."

Yes, "a holy place", and this was always the way most Americans saw it. This was part of the tradition that was handed down. Now it's all about the "almighty dollar" as they say.

And further: "Folks who came to America just because of the good times, such as the crowd the Senate seems to care about, really don't have the interests of the country at heart and probably won't pass on any positive beliefs to their descendants."

Indeed, your supposition that there is a distinction -- in attitude if you will -- between the 'refugee' type mentality and the 'good times' crowed seems to hold. Still, ideally, these differences should be attenuated through common purpose, and strong selfless leadership from those that put the interest of the people first... a tall order I know!

It would appear the problem is insurmountable. Maybe my ancestors should have kept all the economic immigrants "on hold" for 10 generations or so ~ like not having the privilege of getting involved in the political affairs of the nation.

“It would appear the problem is insurmountable.”

The problem may be insurmountable by man; however, there is a saying – I think in the bible – that “…With God all things are possible. So perhaps there is still hope.

By its vote, the Senate demonstrated its priorities are not those of the American people.
