BOULDER, Colo. - An investigation of a professor who likened some Sept. 11 victims to a Nazi found serious cases of misconduct in his academic research, a University of Colorado spokesman said Tuesday.
One member of the five-person investigative committee recommended that ethnic studies professor Ward Churchill be fired, and four recommended he be suspended, university spokesman Barrie Hartman said.
Churchill has denied doing anything wrong. He said earlier Tuesday that he had yet to see the report.
University officials had earlier determined Churchill could not be fired for his comments about the terrorist attacks, but they launched an inquiry into allegations about his research, which included accusations of plagiarism and fabrication.
Churchill's wife, Natsu Saito, who also teaches in the ethnic studies department, said Tuesday she had resigned her tenured teaching position at the school but said she and Churchill have no plans to leave Boulder.
In her resignation letter, Saito accused the university of reneging on promises to her and the department, ignoring racial harassment of the department and individuals, and treating Churchill unfairly. She said her decision to resign was not prompted by the pending report.
Better than nothing.
The dime store indian is meeting his just rewards.

University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill plagiarized, fabricated and falsified material and was disrespectful of American Indian traditions in his writings, a report released today said.
Three of the five scholars who examined the ethnic studies professor's work for four months believe Churchill's academic misconduct is serious enough that CU could fire him from his tenured job, the report said.
But two of those three said the most appropriate sanction would be to suspend him without pay for five years.
The other two committee members did not believe Churchill's research misconduct was serious enough to warrant termination.
They suggested the university suspend him without pay for two years.

Ward Churchill
This POS is about to speak at the U of O in Eugene.
Put him in a hall at eye-level in the middle of a circle of all the families who lost people in the WTC and have him read his essay where he called their loved ones Little Eichmans.
That has to equal firing!
His wife is teaching at Georgia State University this fall.....she was a visiting professor to CU....so much for "resigning her tenured position"
I just sent my alma mater University of Washington a note that having George Halloway speak there affected my donation decisions.
Looks like he's been using some spray-on tan to keep up that fake indian look.
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy / NOT! I would love to know what dirt they have on the wife in order to voluntarily give up a tenured position. It would appear they now have a sudden loss of cash flow. But I'm sure DUers will flock to his 50K speaking engagements proclaiming him a victim of the VRC.
Now the NY Slimes or see-BS news will offer him a lucrative job. Liberals love losers (see Jayson Blair et al.)
Ppppfffttt...I guess it's worth something- but mostly it seems too little..and way too late.
It turns out to be Cloud CooCoo Land, where goofs like "Tonto" here ("Native American" heritage my butt) saying things they'd never get away with in the real world and being lauded for it by other America-hating psychophants, never having to face the punch in the nose they'd get if they said it out here.
Holy cow! They really had to light that one carefully to make him look Indian, didn't they? That's the first photo I've seen of him that he didn't look quite so much like the pudgy, middle-aged white man he undoubtedly is...
(I know it makes no sense that a white guy pretending to be an Indian could be the victim of "racism" but that's how moonbats think.)
