Comprendo. I'm Sephardic, after all.
I have lots of family still in Mexico and they really view this whole thing with a "Duh, of course they want to control the border."
Many, many hispanics --- on both sides of the Rio --- are conservative and want to control the border.

I was on that thread. Praising our President. Defending him at every turn.
Didn't even listen to the speech, just saved my energy for the fight ahead.
Not going to let the tantrum throwers get in their lies and distortions.

One of my kids called me this morning and said she was so disgusted with the whining and shrieking she had heard, particularly on talk radio, that she no longer even wanted to listen to it. I think a lot of conservative young people feel that way; the hate-filled screamers are driving them away.

Many, many hispanics --- on both sides of the Rio --- are conservative and want to control the border. Too bad we don't have more critters who want that.

Hey Johnnie....
Thanks for the ping. What an excellent speech by the Pres...it was apparently well received. (Not necessarily on FR, but nationally!)

I'm so tired of the vote third party crowd, the GOP is down crowd, and Bush is down crowd. Amen. The President knew no one would agree 100% with every proposal. But he's asking all of us, and that means ME and it means all of US and a working majority, to accomplish something. I happen to agree with his goals, if not every detail. I wish I heard MY "pet phrase", BICE Reform, but I didn't. But I did hear border enforcement and a plan to make legal immigration work somewhat better. If we do the latter, the need for the former will go down dramatically.

That is great news AH,thanks for the feedback. I haven't really been able to find anyone except for Rush who liked the speech.
But I have given up "talking head" news programs and am leaning too heavily on the Drive-by media and online articles.
