>> Law is a scummy, self absorbed cretin, enabling Criminal Homosexual Priests under his care to abuse children of his parishes over a long period of time. <<

I believe you are correct. But his residence in Rome does nothing to hinder any prosecution against him. He is certainly guilty of civil offenses, and has lost lawsuits on that basis. It is unproven whether he is guilty of criminal offenses, and, after much bluster, the Massachusetts Attorney General has declined to pursue charges. The unfortunate truth is that negligence such as what has been established against Law was not illegal in Massachusetts. He may very well be guilty of far more. In fact, I have not seen a competing legal theory other than his guilt. But establishing guilt requires more than bewildering behavior resulting in evil consequences.

>> Law is a fraud. How anyone can defend these creeps is beyond comprehension. <<

If by "these creeps," you refer to Law, I concur that Law is a creep. If by "these creeps," you refer to Ratzinger and Wojtyla, I suggest you hold your tongue. You are not knowledgable to hold such people in contempt. Given John Paul II's fantastic success at putting an end to the rampant pedophilia, your making him out as the bad guy is not justified.

Mostly I refer to Law, Egan, Daily, Murphy, McCormack and about 6 or more other Bishops who allowed Criminal Priests to continue to serve even though thjey were aware of credible charges against them.
JPII and Ratzinger were in their Jobs for enough years and had to know what was going on . Check out Bishops Accountability and their references to canon Law on abuse.

Ratzinger was given solid evidence of abuse by Fr. Dogollado, Founder of the Legionaries of Christ and presented by 9 mostly professional men who were seminarians under Dogollado . Ratzinger chose to do nothing.
They have allowed the charges to be tabled and if this is true then they can join the group I refer too.

Take your rebuttal up with the vatican and read "Vows of Silence" by Jason Berry and Gerald Renner.

Our Church would be much healthier without the enablers still in their jobs. and replace them with Wholesome men.

As far as "Santo Sorbito" is concerned, JPII really messed up on the horror of Sexual Abuse.

Publisher Comments:
Going deep behind the headlines about scandals in the Catholic Church, Jason Berry and Gerald Renner's Vows of Silence follows the staggering trail of evasions and deceit that leads directly to the Vatican — and taints the legacy of Pope John Paul II. Based on more than six years of investigative reporting and hundreds of interviews, this book is a riveting account of Vatican cover-ups and the tumult they have caused in the church worldwide. Both a profound criticism and a wake-up call to reform by two Catholic writers, Vows of Silence reveals an agenda of top-down control under John Paul II and a hierarchy so obsessed with secrecy as to spawn disinformation. Vows of Silence is not a book about sexual abuse; it is a book about abuse of power, throughout the Vatican.
The book cuts between the life story of Father Tom Doyle, who sacrificed a diplomatic career with the Vatican to seek justice for sex-abuse victims, and Father Marcial Maciel, an accused pedophile and founder of the militaristic religious order, the Legion of Christ. One of the most mysterious and powerful men in the Catholic Church, Maciel has built a network of priests, lay people, and elite prep schools in more than twenty countries, using the Legion as a fundraising machine to position himself as a favored figure of John Paul II.

In addition to accusations against Maciel of sexual abuse and of using Legion money for his own extravagant lifestyle, many ex-Legionaries claim that the order uses mind-control techniques to isolate seminarians and even priests from their families. And yet, because he enjoyed the protection of Pope John Paul II and members of the Roman Curia, charges against Maciel for sexual misconduct — all of which he denies — were blocked in the Vatican court system.

Drawing on in-depth interviews with Father Doyle and with ex-Legionaries who filed a canonical suit against Maciel, as well as interviews with Vatican insiders and an array of sources in Mexico, Ireland, Canada, and Australia, the authors provide a penetrating account of a hierarchy directly in conflict with its followers. With keen insight and scrupulous reporting, Vows of Silence is a powerful narrative that chronicles the church's struggle between orthodoxy and reform — going straight to the heart of one of the world's largest power structures.

Even when they finally recognise Degollado's guilt the Hierarchy doesn't have the courage to apply proper Judgement and deserving punishment.
This Bum should have been defrocked and put out of the priesthood.

VATICAN: POPE, SILENCE AND PENITENCE FOR FATHER MACIEL
(AGI) - Vatican City, May 19 - 'Taking account both of the advanced age of reverend father Marcial Maciel Degollado as well as his poor health, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, under the leadership of new prefect, Cardinal William Levada, has decided to 'give up on a canonical trial and ask the father to spend his life in prayer and penitence, renouncing all public ministries'. And Pope Ratzinger 'has approved this decision made public today by the Holy See's press office, with a declaration taking account of the validity of the works founded by him. 'Independently of the person of the Founder we recognise with gratitude the apostolic merit of the Legionaries of Christ and the Regnum Christi Associations'. (AGI) -
