I feel any guestworker program is a subsidy to businesses. I feel that employers should have to compete for labor just as they do every other business expense such as rent or fuel. The workers will never improve their standard of living if employers can import cheap labor. Too many on this board have no sympathy for workers as they feel their jobs are not in jepordy or that they are so smart unfettered immagration won't effect them. This plan by the senate will bring in so many immigrants that we will be like Mexico in a few years. Bush and his rich buddies will do fine and the rest of us will just be the peons.
