Of course Bush is doing some things right. But Bush and almost every politician in Washington are refusing to take this problem seriously.
There is some serious back-room politics in play here. It's very frustrating to see Bush try to play this crap off like we're all a bunch of drooling idiots.

I dunno, I have my own position but I've often wondered if it's one of those problems where the facts won't be stated like why I think we're really in Iraq (or maybe I'm wrong on that, too).

I've read some very compelling studies that indicate that the recent and long lived economic situation in Japan is entirely due to the shrinking of the birth rate. If it weren't for the influx of mooselimbs in Europe what would the economy/population look like there?

Bush doesn't strike me as tone deaf. Is there something else that can't be spoken that's at play? Is it back room politics or projections on our population levels?
