I just finished watching Bush's speech. I have to say that I was not disappointed. He said about what I thought he would say which was basically nothing. Basically, the NG troops will make dough-nut runs for the border patrol guys and that's about it. However, I watched Newt Gingrich on Tim Russert's Meet The Press yesterday and I like his ideas on the illegal immigrant issue. Also, when asked by Russert about running for prez, newt didn't "completely" rule out the notion. I know the guy has some baggage problems but I kinda think he might have possibilities...

I'll vote for anyone who will enforce our laws. El Presidente's framed color photo is coming down off the wall and going into the closet.

A big Amen! to that. I saw it too. Gingrich is far too smart for the GOP to put him up for president. He would make people like Rove, McCain, Specter, et. al. look like clowns.

I totally agree with you about Gingrich. He's articulate, extremely well-informed, tough-minded, and has strong leadership qualities. He has ideas that he has been thinking carefully about. I was impressed with him on Russert.
