The President is right. This is not amnesty. He has worked out the best way to get this country out of this mess and keep the economy going.
And for those of you who complain because of references to jobs Americans won't do, can't do, blah blah blah.
Have you EVEN SEEN or SMELLED a chicken factory? Have you smelled it, and seen the people wearing the rubber boots while doing their jobs?
If not, then don't get "all snobby" about jobs Americans won't do, cause I don't think your children would them. Pizza Hut maybe, but not the chicken factories.
When I was 15-20, I worked in grocery stores, and a factory before going to college.
Kids today don't work jobs like that. They walk around with their ipods, laptops, and go to the malls.
Don't bash the President for this situation.

You're right. I won't go back to carpentry that I did for twenty years. Not for the same wages they paid twenty years ago thanks to all the illegals who flooded the trades here in this little CO mountain town in the last ten years. IOWs, no sale on your "jobs Americans won't do" insult.

Do you really believe that without illegal aliens no grass will be cut, no roofs will be shingled, all motels will close and lettuce will be unobtainable? If you do, you have bought into the garbage promoted by the MSM and Democratic party. None of these were the reality before the massive invasion of illegal aliens.
I know plenty of whites and blacks - AMERICANS - who were vying for jobs in chicken processing plants in West Virginia.
It was the company that drew in and to all appearances set up housing for the illegal aliens.
Jobs Americans won't do my A**!
My husband and I have worked many of the jobs people say Americans won't do or aren't doing and I am insulted by those words. You say the younger generation won't do that type of work now; I will call BS on that, my stepson and daughter are working construction jobs right now and another daughter is working in an onion shed and doing other farm labor. None of my 4 children even has an ipod and only one has a laptop which she is using in trying to set up her own business. Very seldom do any of them go to a mall. You may know many young people like you describe but there are many out there that are not that way.
I do think there might not be enough Americans to fill all the jobs, If the issue was characterized that way I would not have an objection. The way it is worded now makes all Americans sound lazy and too good to work. I do think we need to figure out just how many workers we need and what type from other countries to make sure illegals don't take jobs from Americans, that Americans do want and are willing to do- which does happen now. Of course if the plan is to make employers follow the law- then I think the advantage of saving money by hiring illegals will evaporate and with no advantage over American workers much of that will stop.
