Jim Robinson wrote the foreward for a book, "Hillary's Secret War" and FR is mentioned prominently. The book details how the owner of this site was able to trace where posters were coming from the in the late 90's.

At that time, a lot of posters were posting from the Clinton White House, The Washington Post, etc. They were opinion shapers, coming here to stir dissent and shape public opinion. Change Republicans minds about what is best for the country.

We still have this going on. Some are paid opinion shapers. Some just like to make trouble. SOme are DU'ers. Some are StormFront people. Some are Pat Buchanan supporters.

You get the idea. The point is, very few of us in real life have ever met Republicans who vent this kind of anger and hatred.

Do I think immigration is a problem? Definitely. But am I going to turn my back on the one man who is trying to fix it for the first time in my lifetime? Absolutely not.

Even Reagan signed an amnesty bill. True amnesty. And he's one of America's most beloved presidents.

Reading that book is how I came to find FreeRepublic.

I was impressed with both the book, and the forward, the website was listed, I lurked for one whole day and signed up.
Best site on the web in my book ( if I ever write one...lol).
