Well, the NSA has a list of almost every phone number called since 9/11 - that's perfectly legal, necessary, and not spin.
I have no problem with it.
I was simply replying to someone who was worried they might get a social security card that actually had some ID authentication as part of it. the government is mining credit card purchases and UPS/FEDEX records to find people who buy cigarettes online to avoid taxes, and we've got people saying an ID card is the "end of the world". if a proper ID card meant that employers would have to square up their employment, or face sanctions - sign me up.
