I apologize for being cranky this morning.

To respond to your continuing socialist sloganeering - "The state is a part of society not the reverse. It exists to serve society not the reverse." - would be to confer upon this intellectual masturbation a dignity it does not possess.

Apololgy accepted.

To respond to your continuing socialist sloganeering...

Your withdrawal from the discussion, if that is what you are attempting to do, noted.

-- to my knowledge, "nose picking" has no detriment to society in general beyond "grossness.
Consequently, restricting it is beyond the legitimate interest of society, i.e., government.

Headsonpikes:

Here we have the kernel of your disorder - that little socialist meme that equates society with the state.

Lucky Dog objects:

The state is a part of society not the reverse. It exists to serve society not the reverse.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Interesting exchange, one that serves to prove Lucky supports the communitarian creed.
'Restricting behavior is legitimate interest of society, i.e., government, because the state exists as part of society in order to serve community interests.'
Or something like that. - The finer points of socialistic dogma have never been very rational. -- In fact they have been described as symptoms of a social disease.
