Okay, I challenge you to put forth a rational plan to detain, process and deport millions of illegal aliens, to conform to the requirements of the constitution, to handle the swarm of legal challenges that will be entered into the system and to not break the bank while you are doing it. YOU CAN'T! Any attempt you make at it I can probably rip to shreds in a matter of minutes.
You are so busy ripping Bush for telling the truth because you haven't spent a minute thinking about the massive undertaking it would be and the overwhelming expense of trying to deport that many illegals.
Here, I'll make the challenge easier for you. Just tell me where you are going to get the court capacity to process that 11 million. Every one of them can require their day in court before before being deported. How do you propose handling just that one small facet? Haven't stopped to think about that have you?
Come up with a rational answer for that one, then you can tackle detention facilities, legal representation, ACLU law suits, transportation, manpower, and the long list of real world issues that would need to be addressed.
I excitedly wait your comprehensive solution. I would just once like to see one from the complainers.
Easy. President declares Martial Order! Anyone without papers is bussed back to the border and threatened that if they are found here illegally again, they will be executed.
You are using a straw man red-herring argument. They are not going to round every one up. However, my thought would be to constantly lower the number by the floowing:
1. Deport every illegal convicted of any crime;
2. Deport every illegal caught DWI;
3. Deport every illegal caught on an outstanding warrant;
4. Deport every illegal finishing a jail term, not let them back into the popultation;
5. Tax foreign money transfers;
By doing that you will easily get rid of the worst illegals and cause others to self deport.
Please tell me what is wrong with that and why that can't be done.
Who ripped Bush? Jeeze get a grip! I just said no surprises here - it is about the vote with all politicans and its quite obvious when it comes to everything with Congress and the Senate. Gotta remember its an election year. And like I said in my other post - first we secure the border - second we make it hard for anyone to hire illegals and then the illegal problem will take care of itself.
Sure I can. It's called the regular INS process, which was handling 1.5 million per year under Clinton (which number dropped drastically under Bush--I'll leave the conspiracy theorist to figure out why THAT might be). Double the number of agents and we can obviously handle 3 million a year. So it'll take ten years or so to get rid of them all--I'm patient.

Punishing Big Business is a democrat set piece. If the existing labor laws are enforced in even a small percentage of cases, employers will stop hiring illegal alien invaders.

There is no question that Phase I has to be to CLOSE the borders. I just read an article yesterday that one Mexican national has been in US jails 20x, and deported each time. Obviously, deportation at all will not work if the borders are porous. So get those borders closed first and we will talk.
Next, Phase II won't be that onerous or expensive. In every city, send ICE agents into several large, small, and family businesses. Hit the playgrounds for the illegal nannies. Arrest and fine employers. Jail a few. Keep going for a few months. BINGO, everyone else drops their illegals.
Without jobs, they go home. They go home now for holidays; without jobs here, they will go back.
