Getting rid of Assmabad with extreme prejudice would not change the situation. There are hundreds more to take his place. There are hundreds more mullahs who put him where he is.
Their weapons must be destroyed. Their capacity to make war must be destroyed. The regime must be decapitated. Killing the figurehead will accomplish nothing.

Not only would it be cheaper, the cost of a bullet, poison, mechanical failure of his air plane etc., but safer for our people and the rest of the world.
