Yes, that's biting sarcasm. You understimate generation Y. But what would I know... I only ate chow with these 18-21 year old battle hardened (and weary) young soldier in Iraq a few months back. And flew over them watching firefights I couldn't help out in. Sometimes I could and did "help out". You say they join for the benefits, and sometimes you're right. But they are not stupid, anyone joining now is "going to the show" and they know it and are proud of it. The pussys and weaklings have long since left. Unless you are a guardsman or reservist, I'd stop speaking for them.

My comment was to Candor7 about 16 yr olds still not out of high school. A person can do a lot of growing up between 16 to 21.

Sir, my husband racked up over 36 years in the military and we are both still very active in the military life both on and off base. We lost a son in Iraq and have a SIL serving there now, so please do not insinuate I have no idea what I'm talking about.
