Hey pal illegals are given amnesty all the time when caught, most are offered the right to leave voluntarily without criminal prosecution or formal deportation. Now you want them to be able to stay and work here when they never had that right before? That's not just amnesty, but a blatant reward!

Where is taxpayers amnesty? How about 50 million of us don't pay our taxes (to give to illegals) and see how liberal the politicos are then? Do you know how much this proposed legalization will cost in EIC, social services and Social Security benefits?

Clearly the Senate and President are trying to tax us (to death)to pay for their legalization against the people's wishes. ERGO Taxation without representation.

Did you read the thread about the MM? McCain's office told them to leave and threatened to call the Capital Police if they didn't. Even Hagel's office was more polite than my Senator from AZ.

As usual Kerry was flip-flopping. When he did his train trip through the SW on his whistle stop in New Mexico he said when he was elected President everyone here would be made American Citizens.

Senator Kyl's statements are ALL LIES

"ILLEGAL ALIEN AMNESTY WILL PASS THE SENATE"
from Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ) at today's Town Hall in Sun Lakes, AZ

Statements by Senator John Cornyn:

I favor a second chance for hard-working illegal aliens currently within the United States, Congress should also consider alternatives to amnesty. Senator Kyl and I
introduced a bill that would grant all twelve million illegal aliens a second chance, but would not treat them better than legal immigrants who comply with the law. Illegal aliens who register with the government
would immediately obtain work and travel authorization (and the legal protections that come with them) and would have a five-year period to depart. In order to avoid disruption of families and businesses, our bill would allow them to immediately re-enter legally. Our proposal
neither rewards nor unduly punishes illegal aliens; instead, it places them on equal footing with other immigrants so that every individual has an equal opportunity to obtain a green card and citizenship.

So if there are roughly half of that, 16 Million illegals, and they got amnesty, it would be equivalent of the entire state of Florida's population!

The population of Mexico is about 90 million. 16 million is about 18% of 90 million. Is our government seriously considering granting U.S. citizenship to 18% of Mexico's population?

If those 16 million bring three family members each (which they would legally be able to do) that would be 64 million or about 67% of Mexico's population. That should go a long way towards relieving Mexico's stunning poverty.

Remember this when you listen to Bush's speech. The anchor babies will soon get to vote. After years of indoctrination by the forces of La Raza and LULAC who do you think they are going to vote for? Will they deny goodies to their mothers and father for the good of the United States? Or, will they vote in candidates blatantly calling for amnesty and immediate citizenship for their illegal parents?

 MIXED CITIZENSHIP STATUS

There are 6.6 million families in the USA in which a head of household and/or spouse is an illegal immigrant. In some of these families, the children are U.S. citizens. Number of families with:

No children 3.9 million
Children are U.S. citizens 1.5 million
Children are not U.S. citizens 725,000
Some children are citizens, some are not 460,000

Sources: Pew Hispanic Center and U.S. Census Bureau

The strangeness carries over to the actor who plays Pres Logan. He was on TV going on about the show

No, I did not. I'm not surprised though. I'm sure McCain's disdain resembles more than just a few other so called republicans.

For a man claiming he wants to be President -- stories like this won't do him any good -- I hope he keeps it up and word spreads. His actions in Sun City last month were pretty nasty, too.. wish someone had that on tape.

I don't quite understand what reducing 4437 to misdemeanors means for this bill? Does it essentally take the "teeth" out of real enforcement?

I don't see what difference its inclusion or exclusion makes in the big picture. As soon as an illegal alien takes a job he/she has committed a felony. More importantly so has the employer...under current laws in both cases. No new legislation is required at all to enforce the laws on the books and those laws are for the most part quite adequate.

That being the case you can rightfully consider all the bloviating in DC on both sides of this issue to be smoke-and-mirrors. Only those calling for action on enforcement and border security have any credibility.

MIND BOGGLING!!! For which I can only repeat your solid message:

No compromise! No concessions! No quarter!

Secure the border!

Crack down on employers!
(The dog-and-pony show catch-and-release won't cut it either.)

No anchor babies!

Deport illegal aliens.
(Not mass deportation, deportation on contact. Is it too much to expect taxpayer funded government authorities to enforce the laws on the books?

Bring in immigrants who have been waiting for years with papers in hand!

Nothing else will do.
