Will Old Europe ever wake up to the threat from militant Islam? How can so many stay in denial? What will it take? First they had the Madrid bombings. Then the London bombings. Then the French riots. And finally the Mohammed Cartoon conflict. What next?

This cannot be true. Germany is a progressive society that is so filled with Euro-guilt that they make every effort to understand the resentments of non-white, non-European cultures and will always seek to understand the root causes of their grievances.
This innoculates Germany from terrorism.
I expect to see an immediate correction to this article.

European politicians (and American ones) are not even allowed to identifiy the cause of terrorism (Islam).
Much less fight it.

"If you lay down with dogs, you'll wake with fleas." and the euro-peons have given up their ability to defend themselves from their invaders. Hopefully the Citizens of this country will wake up and take note. Highly doubtful, but one can always hope.

I'm not sure they are capable of "waking up" anymore. Sadly, we're just a few more manufactured scandals planted by the demo/socialist and there partners in the LSM media away from the same apathy.
Hell the old 911 we shall never forget attitude is already long gone and and now there are polls, rigged or not, showing a majority of people thing Clinton is more hones than Bush. Think about that, Clinton perhaps the most prolific liar I've ever seen, he the one that was impeached amd disbarred is seen as more honest.
Day after day after day the press attacks Bush, puts forward leaks provided by former Clinton cronies, reports every piece of bad news and buries all good news whether the war or the economy. Meanwhile it's the demosocialists who put forward some of the programs that they are supposedly so aghast at now. Does the press report this? No of course not that wouldn't serve the playbook well.
All the while we have half the conservatives bashing the President on a daily basis. OK I agree he has not been good on imigration and that it's a huge problem but hey if the demosocilists get in power and surrender to the islamopignazis will it really matter how many Mexicans are sneaking across the border? Hell they'll be subject to the same Sharia laws and give the pignazis some credit they'll actually enforce their laws.

They've actually been fairly quiet lately, the last story I heard out of Germany was when someone snapped a pic of the new president's bum.
Apparently, things are just perfect in that haven of socialism. They don't have and never will have any problems at all. Just ask all of old Europe....dere eez no problemz, mein Herr und Frauen!
Let 'em eat leibkuchen.

Is there an Israeli soccer team attending the World Cup? Europe had its wake up call 30 plus years ago. It hit "Snooze."

Okay, so you except that validity of this article without question.
You seem to think that there is some Nazi element to German society, but fully contradict that assumption by believing that German police are not paying attention.
It has been my experience that German police are some of the top professionals in the world at their job.
Unlike in the United States, individual appearance is fairly good indication of who is a foreigner. Moreover, anyone who lives in Germany is required to register with the authorities in order to be able to rent an apartment.
Thus, Germany has a fairly good handle on who is in the country and watches out for those who are under suspicion.
This article is a load of crap.

my joke about nazi's was just that,a joke. the muslim /terrorist connection from germany to virtually every part of the "muslim" world is sickening. your muslim "friends" are commanded by their book to show their faces sooner rather than later. how many of the 911 hijackers were funneled through germany?

IMHO - The world will not fight this threat seriously until most of what they cherish has been blown up. The seems to be a level of destruction and terror that is accepted as normal. Everytime I think the threshold of tolerance has been met they move the line. It is much easier to remove one bug than a swarm. The world seem okay with letting a few bugs multiple until a swarm forms before anything is done about it. As the world burns, our many Nero's just fiddle away.

You are confused. I never said anything about Nazis. I have great respect for Germany's military and internal security forces, especially GSG-9. But I don't share the same respect for much of Germany's politicians.
The fact that Germany's security services are professional and respected does not mean that there is no threat from radical Islam. After all, this was a German prosecutor making this statement, not an American writer!
As I recall, there was a mosque in Hamburg built and run by Wahhabis that has been a hotbed of militant Islam. In fact, several of the 9-11 hijackers met there. Don't try feeding me a line of crap that there is no problem in Germany.
So sell crazy somewhere else Fritz. We're all full here.

"Moreover, anyone who lives in Germany is required to register with the authorities in order to be able to rent an apartment."
Are all the inhabitants of an apartment obligated to register, or is it applicable only to the person signing the rental lease? What about a "guest" coming and dwelling thare? Is the network of informers in ethnic neighborhoods dense enough to pinpoint such a "guest" in a short time?

[Germany is] anxious to avoid a repeat of the security breaches which saw 11 Israeli athletes killed by a Palestinian terror group at the 1972 Munich Olympics. That was bad, but I recall a guy named Atta planning some 9/11 attacks against the US while in Germany. I guess that doesn't rise to the level of causing anxiety among the Deutsch.

"What next?"
The Germans are about due for one. Holland, Netherlands, Norway etc etc etc, also. Maybe that'll wake them up.
To: LSUfan
For nearly 40 years now, France, Germany & Italy have been making secret sell-out deals with the terrorists in the hopes that the terrorists will leave them alone. Eventually, the chickens must come home to roost. The sheeple of Western Europe have pulled the wool over their own eyes and the wolves are in the hen-house. It's only a matter of time before the slaughter begins. This time, the US should stay out of it and let events run their course.

I recall reading recently www.wnd.com I believe, where there may be some plans/plotting to capture the German Embassy in Tehran. I'm not sure I accept that premise, but, that's one of the ideas about.
