Fortunately, neither McCain nor Hagel can even make it out of a primary, let alone get elected President. Unfortunately, Hagel isn't up for reelection for another two years. Otherwise, you would see loyal Republicans crawl across broken glass here in Nebraska to vote against him. He has become that despised here.

I really don't like it, but something has to be done about the border

I agree ... IMO the support has to come from the local/city/state level ... they are the first responders

If they won't help the Feds .. we will not make a dent in fixing the illegal mess

True, but I'm concerned when I see lots of Mexican flags waving and calls for reparations and "reconquista."

Everyone was concerned. I think that is why the May Day demonstrations flopped all over the country.

Immigrants in general didn't agree with that crap. Mexicans couldn't appreciate being used by ANSWER anymore than we would. IMHO

When they've been hijacked by Moveon.org and all of the other Marxist organizations, they sure give me pause.

Hubby (who worked for years at The View) believes that Rosie won't last long at The View. He thinks she won't be happy as part of a group, that she prefers being the only one in the spotlight. Makes sense to me, we'll have to see. [I still won't start watching, though.]

I have made that argument myself, but I'm afraid CA is a lost cause. Schwartzenegger will be the first to scream about using the NG, in the state that needs it the worst.

The bad thing is, he is more conservative than most in CA. How the heck are the feds supposed to work with that?

Ross did have some tinfoil hat theory about his daughgter's wedding, but that was after he was already running, so the hate must have started before that.

Although, I think hating Bush was the impetus for Perot's run, I also think it was vanity...he thought he had the answers to run a successful country like he did a successful business. It's a little harder.

Now, if Bush could fire senators like Perot could fire useless employees, it might be easier.

Did you see or hear the outtakes when she was subbing on The View and Sean Hannity was on? Downright disgusting, she should never be asked to sub again, much less be a regular.

I didn't see it, but I did hear about it

Rosie has always been a reactionary .. she screams and attacks before she has her facts

For example .. Her show when Tom Selleck was on and where she blamed him for what happen at Columbine

You are not wrong. One of the first things they do is get Medicaid, which means they enter the Social Services system and are eligible for food stamps, Aid for Dependent Children, etc... the cost to each person is Arizona amounted to $750 a year a year ago, who knows what it is now. California's estimate was over $1,000 a person.

Those who don't have Medicaid use the hospital emergency rooms as their healthcare and the costs of this is one of many reasons private insurance costs are soaring. Most hospitals are not non-profit organizations, they have to make up the difference with those of us who do have insurance.

Schools is the next issue...but I'll stop at this.

I agree about the Media won the PR battle on Katrina.

samantha, after Katrina all the broadcast & cable networks' news coverage rationgs fell 5% to 20% [that includes Fox too].

Would you believe H&C fall to No.4 & at times No.5? Also, sometimes Brit, Fox Report & Gibson beat FNS.

The only recourse for many of them would be to leave.

We have over 40 million Hispanics in the US. According to the 2000 Census, there are nearly 9 million Mexican-born residents with 4 million in California alone. People would rather stay than go back to the hell hole they left at great risk and expense. They have a support network in the US, which still offers them more hope and opportunity than returning to their home countries. And don't kid yourself, undocumented workers will still be attractive to employers, including individual citizens. They will be even more so if the number declines.

Others may turn to crime and the drug trade joining a significant number of their compatriots. The bottom line is once you get here, you want to stay.

I don't think people appreciate the massive bureaucratic resources it would take to enforce the laws we have now, let alone what would be needed to implement McCain-Feingold. Background checks on up to 20 million illegal aliens, fines, employer sanctions, etc. First, we need to cut off the supply, i.e., secure the borders, then worry about how to handle who is here.

You're lucky, McCain isn't up for four years and always runs virtually unopposed. People are afraid to go up against him....

#197, Post of the day. I have been saying similar things for the last two years. savage and Ingraham, and now Hannity are the best examples. They think that what they say is the most important and cogent thought out there any day any time. They believe that they have a handle on every problem known to man, just ask them and they will bloviate. Did you ever hear them say "well I don't know anything about that, or I do not have an opinion on that"? No way in Hell will they say that they are not up on this or that they just shoot their mouths off, and never give themselves a chance to look at the new Story hitting the headlines in a big picture pragmatic way. They just bluster through and then look really stoopid when the Media Hubbub cools down and the truth and facts come out.

The bad thing is, he is more conservative than most in CA. How the heck are the feds supposed to work with that?

Schwartzenegger was the best choice at the time .. CA is too liberal in their laws to go from a socialist to a very conservative candidate over night .. people in general don't handle change very well

You have to show folks that conservatives aren't the evil people the Dems claim we are

With that all said .. if the States won't do anything to help in fixing the illegal problem .. IMO all fed funds for social programs should be cut off and let those states who want to aid the illegals pay for it themselves

The reason why the illegals are coming here is not all because of the jobs .. it's because Americans are very generous to help the poor

America is paying for Mexico's welfare

Heck, if I lived in Mexico .. I'd want to come here too

Laura has been especially vitriolic lately.

I still tune her in, she has some interesting guests.

She's fanatic about some things I agree with her about; abortion, for example.

And, oddly enough, I don't mind her fanaticism about those topics! (ha)

But, she is off the wall about the borders and some other things, so I turn her off then.

But she likes Country music and 24 so she's not all bad.
