Well said and true. This kind of window dressing means nothing. The illegals will remain, the Border Patrol will be hampered and our rights as citizens will continue to be eroded in favor of developing a North American economic bloc at the expense of the United States of America. Jorge Arbusto has demonstrated his firm commitment to that agenda since 2000.
Sad but true. I am utterly disdainful of the way that Bush has handled this issue. Tenacity is a fine trait, however pigheadedness when you are wrong is a fault.
Shouldn't we hold judgment until we actually hear his plan?
"Mollify gullible conservatives with temporary measures and tough talk, while providing permanent amnesty to 12 million."
Just the "Faith in Bush Crowd"...I hope.
Such a phony plan. Offer a temporary "solution." No permanent hires of border patrol, NG can be moved quickly.
I've got to hand it to Rove. He made a plan that sounds "tough" to the gullible, calls to patriotism with the National Guard, and is perfectly removable at a moments notice. The Bushbots are so relieved they don't see Bush is bargaining with them - they get a false sense of security, he gets to deflate their wages in return.
Rove's Chamber of Commerce buddies will stay his friends, he'll get that big buck payback after 2008.
"while providing permanent amnesty to 12 million."
You could pull this off in 1986-- it won't happen in 2006--remember Dubai Ports DEAL?? That was fueled by the anger in the new media/blogosphere....The minute anyone gets a whiff of Amnesty, the gutless pols will back down pronto.
The difference is this..the Mexicans can put a million in the streets (because who cares if they miss a day of work) but what the pols fear most is 2-3 million people holding back the cash....all the prostitutes in DC understand is money..these guys are done if they go pro-amnesty and they know it...
