When I heard the name "Dusty Foggo", I just brushed it aside as a coincidence. I graduated from Hilltop High School in 1973. Dusty Foggo and Brent Wilkes graduated from Hilltop High School in 1972. I know both of them, but they were never friends. Small world.

Do a Google search for "dusty foggo" and "hilltop high school". Pictures and stories about both of them.

I guess by now you know you have opened a can of worms.
Next thing you know you will be linked to poker games, free limos, expensive booze and hookers...
I'll check the Sunday NYT to see how quickly they jump on you. :o)
Serious for a moment: Y'know I am aware that there are neighbors, acquaintances, co-workers and a myriad of people I don't know especially well who would be aware of some of my activities.
How can someone who is even somewhat in the public's eye be so careless? (If in case he did it.)
Were I in in a high profile position, I would be concerned about what I said to the check out lady in the supermarket.
But people from athletes to horny presidents seem to think they are invisible.

Here is how it works :
A company that has a product/service for the govt pays the lobbyist $10 million. Within a year the company gets a govt contract/order for $20 million, and in the meantime competition is disparaged - with pseudo-official findings.
(The 10 mil pays the lobbyist, a well-placed 'expert', and a few congressmen)

The men are so close they each named a son after the other. And little Foggo Wilkes is still angry about it, as is young Mr Wilkes Foggo.

Dusty and Brent were typical football lettermen. I was in the marching band and they often invited themselves to the band party that followed the football game. Both of them visited my house the night the band party was hosted at my house. It was a Halloween theme that evening.

Did either of them come dressed as 007? LOL.
Small world indeed.

They showed in in their lettermen's jackets after the game. My only regret in hosting the party was that one of the visitors pocketed the contents of the donation bowl. The standard protocol was to have people who came to the band party toss some money in the punch bowl to offset the costs for the hosting family. After that occurrence, we hosted one more band party. It was limited to band members only. No problems that time.

Just a hunch . . . investigators probably want to talk to you.

Just a hunch . . . investigators probably want to talk to you.It would be pointless. I haven't seen either of those guys since they graduated from high school in 1972. I remember their names and faces, but that's no surprise. I could walk up to any person on campus and call them by name. One pass through the high school annual was sufficient.
Dusty and Brent headed off the San Diego State. I headed off to UCSD the following year.

Oh, no. You're not getting off that easy. :)
Seriously, the first time I've seen anything about a HS connection is in this WaPo article. Which probably means someone has already been snooping around out there.
I do believe this story is just getting started, however.

I made the high school connection by a Google of "dusty foggo" and "hilltop high school" on a lark. I was curious as to whether there might be another person in the world named "dusty foggo". I got a bunch of hits. The stories tied in Brent Wilkes. The best researched story thus far was done by the reporters at channel 10 (TV) in San Diego.
My 1972 Hilltop High annual is on a bookshelf here in my office. My picture appears with the sophomores that year. The 1973 annual has me in the senior section as I qualified to be a membe of the senior class by virtue of credits completed. I had to fight the school board to get them to agree to that manner of classification. 15 other members of my class took advantage of the new classification to graduate early as well.
I didn't know that Dusty had taken a job as a security guard at Sears. I also didn't know that Brent had apparently been very successful. From the news stories, it seems that along with success came excesses at parties and personal behavior.

One thing is certain. You guys will have a lot to talk about at your next HS Class Reunion.

One thing is certain. You guys will have a lot to talk about at your next HS Class Reunion. Not likely. I graduated in the class of 1973. Dusty and Brent graduated in the class of 1972.
I scanned a page from my 1972 Hilltop High School annual. All the news stories talk about Dusty as a football player. Here is a picture I scanned of Dusty with the wrestling team.
