I am not that optimistic (that we are done) nor pessimistic (that victory is impossible), I am realistic... Iraq can and will be a stable democracy if we stay the course. It will be a partly screwedup nation due to the Arab-muslim culture, but it has achieved the key milestones towards functioning democratic rule. we CAN and will win, by defeating terrorists and giving Iraq a chance to show a better governing model than Mullah-theocracy and dictatorship.

The terrorists are going to have to be ground into dust.
They are still there, albeit we kill hundreds each week.

Alway was, always will be. The wise ones are the ones staying level-headed and not stampeding on one issue.

Keep on dreaming. Peace with Syria, Lebanon, Iran, and the like in proximity. Thats like putting a coyote in charge of guarding the hen house.

There will never be peace in the middle east. History has proven this out. Dictatorships and totalitarian regimes with little regard for their own peoples are the rule in the M.E.

If muslim countries don't have a great satan to fight, they fight amongst neighboring countries. If there not fighting between neighboring countries, they fight among the various tribes.

Oh and by the way, Republicans will win ONLY if they start acting like conservatives. At the present, the electorate is having a difficult time discerning the difference between the two parties. Now thats WITLESS
