This is the last election cycle they can bash Bush for votes.
After this one they might get confused.

What's your plan? Inflicting the lesser of two evils is not good, I agree. But if you don't do that, how do you avoid inflicting the greater of the two evils? Realizing that one or the other is the only choice you have?

I can't think of a single issue that mattered that was pushed though, except maybe the impeachment thing. They did stop the liberal agenda from being advanced and forced Clinton to slither to the middle and claim that it was HE who got spending under control and balanced the budget. Gingich did have a good thing going. That's why the liberals demonised him so much. Then he self destructed.

Your choice is to elect Republicans and change them from the inside of government. . . Just how do we do that? People have been saying that at each election, and look where we are now, almost to the point of overt contempt for the conservative base.
It's very easy to say, but specify how

Be sure to stock up on pleanty (sic) of bandages for your nose!!!! I'm not voting against the current crop of "R"s to teach them a lesson (to spite my face.)
I am voting against them in an attempt to return my country to its root principles. It doesn't have much of a chance of working, but that doesn't mean that I shouldn't try.

This idea of teaching people a lesson "for their own good" is great, as long as the ones teaching the lesson aren't also being negatively affected by the outcome. You've never had to ground a child, have you?

Scarier than all of the above is that Fidel buddy Charlie the red Rangel will head the Ways and Means Committee, which is in charge of tax policy. We will be on the road to full blown socialism, especially if a dem gets the White House in 08.
To: chesley
We can be willing to go through the pain and sacrifice to roll back the "lesser" evils we have already allowed to accumulate. That means withdraw support for those who willfully and contemptuously betray us. If that gets the democrats in power, so be it.
We are headed toward the dissolution of America as a unified nation and whether it is the republicans or democrats that get us there is absolutely immaterial.
At some point we are going to have to stand up.
From my viewpoint, voting is a duty as an American citizen, so not voting is not an option. Vote a third party of your choice.
I know you are frightened, but we have to realize at some point we really have nothing to lose any more.

This is exactly how Ken Salazar was elected to the US Senate last year.
I've been in enough of the CO battles to know we still have to overcome RINO's who would vote Democrat given the chance and thinking they've found a "moderate" Democrat.
Denver is tough because it's so heavily Democrat, but every step helps us in the long run. The only way Republicans lose is when we stay home and not be involved in educating our side as much as we're fighting the other side. The only way liberal Republicans continue winning our primaries and positions as candidates is because conservatives give up or don't want to fight hard enough from "within" the party.
To: Snardius
I agree.....if the R party stays home, we will suffer a decade of democrat policy....
Why is it that the R party seems to be unconcerned about this possibility?

They are hoping the voters blink first. I won't.The at least use your head and vote for a Naderite candidate that might have a chance against the Democrat candidate.

Fear is the worst reason in the world to vote. We are headed toward full blown socialism, and worse, the destruction of America as a nation united under a common language and culture. If we allow the latter, it just simply won't matter what other details we address.
And, obviously, both democrats and republicans want that.

Guns outlawed, and the FBI/HSD/ATF/IRS going after ALL gun-owners. national gun database. Ammo registered. (If you don't follow her laws, think Waco.)
IRS used to audit republican donors, republican whistle blowers, republican columists and news makers.

"Yep" x2.
The Democrats cannot win in 2006, but the GOP is certainly capable of losing.

Easy. Get involved with your candidates...all of them. Join their campaign finance committee. Get to know them on a personal basis. Encourage others of your ideology to do the same.
