My niece complains that the food aboard ship is TOO good--she keeps having to fight temptation. (I tell her that it builds character. She said that anybody related to her Uncle BeHoldAPaleHorse is a character--and probably a suspicious one at that!)

If she likes that food she would love the grub aboard a submarine. The BEST in the Navy.

LOL! It's true! I never eat more lobster tails and T-bone steaks than when I am at sea. Yet I still hear complaints from some of the younger sailors. I always tell them that there is a Marine somewhere in Iraq or Afghanistan who would gladly trade his cold MRE for some hot navy chow so stop complaining about the food!

Though it never fails. Whenever I step foot off the boat at Norfolk, the first place I head is to the McDonald's right across from the pier.
